Aussie Beach Adventures with Jody Hunter: From Cronulla's Shores to Noosa's Magic

Calling all beach bums and adventure seekers! Today, we're diving into the world of family fun with Jody Hunter, a Cronulla mum of two and self-proclaimed beach enthusiast.

So, Jody, spill the beans – what's your all-time favorite Australian beach?

Oh, that's a tough one! But if I had to choose, it would be Noosa. It's like a magical wonderland for families – calm waters, endless activities, and enough shopping to satisfy any shopaholic (ahem, me!).

Noosa sounds amazing! What makes it so special for families?

First and foremost, the beach itself is paradise. Noosa Main Beach is a haven for little ones, with gentle waves and shallow water that's perfect for splashing and building sandcastles. Plus, Hastings Street is a treasure trove of shops, cafes, and restaurants, keeping everyone happy and entertained. You'll have seen my Sunplay beach posted there!

Speaking of shops, you mentioned being a shopaholic. Any favorite spots in Noosa?

Oh, honey, where do I even begin? Hastings Street is lined with boutiques, surf shops, and art galleries that will tempt even the most disciplined shoppers. I love browsing the local markets for unique souvenirs and gifts – it's like a treasure hunt every time!

And when it comes to food, what are your family's go-to spots in Noosa?

Noosa's culinary scene is top-notch. For family-friendly dining, Bistro C is our favorite, with delicious pizzas and a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for kids. And for a special occasion, Sails Restaurant is a must-visit – stunning views and exquisite seafood that will leave you wanting more.

Sounds like Noosa has something for everyone. What about activities for the kids?

Adventure is around every corner in Noosa. We love exploring the Noosa National Park with its breathtaking coastal walks and lookouts. The kids also enjoy kayaking on the Noosa River and learning to surf at Noosa Main Beach – they're little wave warriors in the making!

Where do you usually stay in Noosa?

The RACV Noosa Resort is our home away from home. It has a fantastic kids' club, which gives us adults some precious "me time" while the kids are entertained. Plus, the resort has direct beach access, multiple pools, and a playground, making it a true family paradise.

Now, let's talk about your local beach, Cronulla. What makes it so special to you?

Cronulla is my happy place. It's where I grew up, and now it's where I'm raising my own family. The Shire community is incredibly warm and welcoming, and the beach offers something for everyone, from surfers and swimmers to dog walkers and picnickers.

What's your favorite spot in Cronulla?

Darook Park is my go-to. It's perfect for walking my dog, letting the kids run wild, and enjoying a picnic by the water. The kids love skimming rocks from the water's edge, and the park has a great playground and BBQ facilities for those lazy afternoons.

Why is Cronulla a great place to raise a family?

Cronulla has a fantastic village atmosphere. Everything you need is within walking distance, and there's a strong sense of community that makes you feel like you belong. Plus, the schools are excellent, and there's always something happening – from markets to festivals to community events.

Jody, thank you so much for sharing your love for Noosa and Cronulla! You've inspired us to pack our bags and hit the beach with our families.

You're welcome! I truly believe that every family should experience the joy and wonder of spending time at the beach. It's a chance to connect with nature, create lasting memories, and build a love for the outdoors that will last a lifetime.
